I grew up in Portland Oregon before moving to San Juan Island then later to Whidbey Island. My wife Linda and I have lived on Whidbey Island for the past 10 years and have five daughters and six grand childern. We enjoy sailing the Puget Sound and San Juan waters or just walking on the beach whenever we can. We have found that the peaceful pace of island life and the ease of going to Seattle offers us the best of both worlds. The weather offers mild winters and summers due to the rain shadow effect from the Olympic Mountains and surrounding waters.
